Four-way tussle for post of Netball Federation President

The Netball Federation of Sri Lanka (NFSL) will conduct their election of office bearers on May 30 at the Sports Ministry’s Duncan White auditorium at 10 a.m. with the participation of 32 District Associations.


Nominations closed on May 9 to elect office-bearers for a two-year term.


The incumbent NFSL President and Secretary Ranjani Jayakody and Kumudini Gomes respectively have not been nominated for any position.


There will be a four-cornered battle for the presidency between former President Lakshmi Victoria (Nationalized Services), Caryll Tozer (Western), Padma Baddewela (Colombo) and Vajira Pushpakumari (Gampaha).


D.C. Sumithra (Ratnapura), LV Dayaratne (Kegalle) and Shiromi Kuruppu (Ratnapura) will contest for the post of Secretary.


Nitharshana Kulentwiran (Vavuniya) and Champa Gunawardena (Kalutara) will be vying for the Assistant Secretary’s position.


The position of Treasurer is being contested by Pathmini Horanage (Colombo) and J.S. Jayasooriya (Mercantile) while L. Renuka (Nationalized Services) is uncontested for the post of Assistant Treasurer.
