Galina wins second Gold at Asian Para Meet

Sri Lanka added two more Gold Medals and one Silver Medal to their overall tally on the penultimate day of the Fourth Asian Youth Para Games, which continued in Bahrain yesterday.Galina Basnayake continued from where she left on the previous day and went on to win her second Gold Medal of the meet while competing in the 100m freestyle event, clocking one minute 12.09s.    

She followed up her excellent form and also went on to win the Silver Medal in the 100m butterfly event with a time of one minute 32.86s.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s second Gold Medal of the day came from athlete Safran Mohammdu, who won the T46 long jump event with a fine performance of 5.60m.

Altogether, Sri Lanka finished the day with a tally of 11 medals including three Gold Medals, four Silver Medals and four Bronze Medals.
