Galle and Colombo record fourth wins

Galle and Colombo recorded their fourth wins of the National Super League Limited Overs Cricket Tournament when they defeated Kandy and Jaffna in the matches played at the R. Premadasa Stadium and Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota.

Galle’s two-wicket win came on the back of a quick-fire 77-ball 110 inclusive of 14 boundaries and four sixes by Yashoda Lanka, which helped them chase 198 runs for victory with ease.

Meanwhile, it was sweet revenge for Colombo against Jaffna whom they had lost in the first match by four wickets. 

Jaffna taking first lease of the wicket made 161 runs and Colombo in their run chase needed just 25.3 overs to reach the target.

Galle: 198/8 in 33.5 overs (Yashoda Lanka 110, Dhananjaya Lakshan 41, Yohan Suresh 4/59, Sahan Arachchige 3/37).

At Hambantota – Colombo won by five wickets.
Jaffna: 161 in 31.4 overs (Mohamed Shamaaz 41, Hasitha Boyagoda 21, Theesan Vithusan 21 n.o, Kavindu Nadeeshan 3/35, Akmal Fazly 3/41, Dasun Shanaka 2/22, Pramod Madushan 2/36)

Colombo: 163/5 in 25.3 overs (Kusal Perera 46, Avishka Fernando 41, Charith Asalanka 32, Chamindu Wickramasinghe 25 n.o, Pulina Tharanga 2/21, Sandun Weerakkody 2/25).
