Gateway, Colombo and Kandy excel at netball

Gateway Colombo and Kandy Under-14 Netball Teams along with coaches and officials

Gateway College, Colombo emerged unbeaten champions at the Inter-International Schools Under-14 Netball Championship held recently. 
The final saw Gateway Colombo face off against Lyceum, Wattala where they clinched the championship with a 10-8 victory. 
Raneen Nazih, the team captain of Gateway Colombo was selected as the Best Shooter of the Tournament. Chenuthi Perera received the Best Defensive Player Award and Dini Jayaweera won the Netball Queen Award.
Gateway Colombo, competing in Group ‘C’, defeated Colombo International School 14-0, Lyceum, Nugegoda 10-3 and Horizon College 9-7. 
They overcame Ilma International 12-0 and Gateway College, Kandy 7-5 in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively.
Meanwhile, Gateway, Kandy were also a force to be reckon with as they remained unbeaten in the tournament while losing only to their counterpart by two points in the semi-final.
Gateway, Kandy topped their group by defeating the hosts Asian International School 7-2, Lyceum, Ratnapura 11-0 and Lyceum, Wattala 4-3. 
Gateway Kandy went on to secure third place of the tournament by beating Lyceum, Nugegoda 10-7 in the playoff.
