HFC win two category basketball titles at School Games

Holy Family Convent (HFC) Bambalapitiya won two age-group titles at the 2022 All-Island School Games Basketball Championships held in Colombo.

HFC managed to secure the girls’ Under-20 and Under-17 titles at this tournament, which was conducted by the Ministry of Education after a lapse of two years.
In the girls’ Under-17 final, HFC defeated Lyceum, Wattala, and in the girls’ Under-20 final, HFC had the better of Mahamaya Girls’ School, Kandy.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph’s, Nugegoda, took third place in the girls’ Under-17 tournament, and Colombo International School won third place in the girls’ Under-20 tournament.
St. Joseph’s College, Colombo and St. Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya won the Boys’ Under-17 and Boys’ Under-20 basketball titles respectively.

St. Joseph’s beat Lyceum, Wattala, in the boys’ Under-17 final, and St. Peter’s beat Ananda College, Colombo, in the boys’ Under-20 final.

Richmond College and S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia clinched third place in the boys’ Under-17 and boys’ Under-20 tournaments, respectively.
