HNB annex Mercantile League Netball title

Hatton National Bank (HNB) won the 2022 Mercantile League ‘A’ Division Netball Championship when they outplayed Seylan Bank 68-35 in the final, which concluded at the St. Joseph’s College Indoor Stadium, Colombo.


The tournament, held after a lapse of two years, was conducted in four divisions – ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ and Mixed – with Gayanjali Amarawansa of HNB winning the Netball Queen award.


Meanwhile, Citizen Development Bank (CDB) took third place in the ‘A’ Division tournament.


In the ‘B’ Division final, Commercial Bank beat Nation Trust Bank 27-18, with Sampath Bank claiming third place.


Dialog Axiata PLC won the ‘C’ Division title after defeating Omega Line ‘A’ 10-8 in the final, with HSBC ending third.


John Keells Holdings managed to win the Plate championship.


In the Mixed Open final, Fairfirst beat CDB 21-5, with Sampath Bank claiming third place.
