Two stars of the game – Wanindu Hasaranga and Shakib Al Hasan are tied at the top of the T20I All-Rounder Rankings with a little more than a fortnight before the commencement of the T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies.
Just 23 rating points separate the top five players on the updated list for T20I All-Rounders, with Bangladesh veteran Shakib joined by Sri Lanka Captain Hasaranga in the top spot.
Shakib drops three rating points following two appearances at the backend of Bangladesh’s recent five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe with Hasaranga joining the veteran in a share of the top spot and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi just a further 10 rating point adrift.
Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza gains two places to rise to fourth on the back of some strong performances against Bangladesh, while South Africa’s Aiden Markram loses one spot to drop to fifth ahead of the Proteas’ campaign at the T20 World Cup.
Atapattu makes notable progress
Sri Lanka opener Chamari Atapattu has made notable progress in the ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings after some fine performances over the past week.
Atapattu’s match-winning knock of 102 against Scotland in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier has helped the captain move up two places to seventh position among batters, just one off her career-best sixth position attained in April this year.
Atapattu, who is currently ranked number one in the ODI Batting Rankings, has also moved up to fifth among all-rounders in the T20I Rankings.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Nilakshi de Silva moved up two places to 48th in the Batting Rankings while Inoshi Fernando moved up five places to 19th and Udeshika Prabhodhani moved up five places to 30th in the Bowling Rankings.
