ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier Sri Lanka to open campaign against UAE

Sri Lanka will face the United Arab Emirates in their opening match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe on June 19. 


Sri Lanka are grouped with Ireland, Scotland, Oman and the UAE, with three teams moving forward into the Super Six stage, where the top two sides, the finalists, will qualify for the Cricket World Cup. 


Sri Lanka will face Oman on June 23 and two days later will take on Ireland.


Their final first round game will be against Scotland on June 27. 


Nepal, West Indies, Netherlands, United States and the Netherlands are in Group B. 


Sri Lanka will also face the Netherlands and the United States of America in warm up matches before the qualifying tournament begins.
