The inaugural Eagles’ Monsoon Cup Golf Tournament 2022, conducted by Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) and sponsored by Huawei Technologies Lanka Company (Pvt) Limited will be held from September 30 to October 2 at the China Bay, close to the Harbour City of Trincomalee.

This new tournament has been organised to fill the gap of golfing events that are held during the monsoon season. Moreover, the main goal is to uplift the sport, which saw a decline in the past few years due to the pandemic and other national challenges.

As being the first of its kind, this tournament has already earned over 100 foreign and local golfers including fifteen women from all parts of the country.

In addition to the Eagles’ Monsoon Cup, the golfers will also vie for the Eagles’ Monsoon Defence Challenge Trophy which is awarded to the best serving player from the Tri-Forces.

Assistant Vice-President of Huawei Technologies Lanka Company (Pvt) Limited, Supun Manamperi said: “We are honoured to partner with SLAF to make this prestigious golf tournament a success. Huawei has always been passionate about connecting people, and especially activities and moments that unite people with talents and a continuous supporter in the development of sports and golf in Sri Lanka as well as internationally”.
“We are eager to see this tournament bring together players from Sri Lanka’s golfing fraternity and provide a unique opportunity to showcase their skills at a beautiful golfing location. At Huawei we believe in performance and achievements and look forward to a challenging weekend of golfing,” he added.

In addition, Trinco Blu by Cinnamon have come aboard as the hospitality partner for the tournament.
