Inter-District Combined Schools hockey begins today

The 55th Inter-District Combined Schools Under-20 Boys and Girls Hockey Tournament begins today at the Astro Hockey Turf.

Colombo ‘Reds’ take on Kandy ‘Blues’ in the boys’ opener, while Puttalam Schools face Colombo ‘Reds’ in a girls’ match at 9 am today.

There are 13 matches in the boys’ competition and seven matches in the girls’ competition.

In the boys’ segment, group A comprises Matale Schools ‘Golds’, Gampaha Schools, and Kalutara Schools; group B consists of Colombo Schools ‘Blues’, Badulla Schools, Kandy Schools ‘Whites’ and Matara Schools; group C comprises Galle School ‘Golds’, Puttalam Schools, and Matale Schools ‘Maroons’; and group D consists of Colombo Schools ‘Reds’, Kandy Schools ‘Blues’ and Galle Schools ‘Maroons’.

The two groups in the girls’ segment are Kandy Schools ‘Blues, Colombo Schools Blues’ and Matale Schools (group A), and Colombo Schools ‘Reds’, Kandy School ‘Whites’ and Puttalam Schools (group B).
The final round of this competition is scheduled to be held on June 30.
