The 2022 edition of the International Schools Athletics Championship (ISAC) is likely to be postponed once again due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. The 2021 meet was also not held due to the same reason.

The meet is scheduled to take place during the third week of February, 2022 but Chairman, ISAC and Gateway Group Dr. Harsha Alles believes the chances are very remote that they would go ahead with the event.
Over 2,500 athletes from 24 international schools participate in this event, which is conducted annually similar to the All-Island National Schools Games.

Entries for this meet close on January 10 every year after the completion of the Inter-House Athletic Meets of the respective international schools.

However, this time there seems to be no preparation of such at all from the 24 international schools in the country and it is hard to imagine that the meet would go ahead this time.

Dr. Alles stressed that all sports activities of the international schools have come to a complete standstill and will officially call off the 2022 meet after a meeting with the heads of the 24 institutions.

Lyceum School has been handed over the rights to conduct the 2022 event and for the next three years as well.
