The Sri Lanka Netball Federation (SLNF) will conduct interviews to select the new national netball coach on January 6 at the Institute of National Sports Science Auditorium in Colombo.
Two international netball coaches Thilaka Jinadasa and Hyacinth Wijesinghe have applied for this post and their main goal will be the Asian Netball Championships in Singapore in September, 2022.
The incumbent national netball coach Somitha de Alwis, whose term will expire on December 31, 2021 will not seek a second term.
Jinadasa was the coach when Sri Lanka won the Asian Championships in 2009 and 2018 while Wijesinghe was in charge when the country won the Asian Championships in 2001.
The SLNF have also set up an interview board which includes Retired General Daya Ratnayake (Chairman), Sunil Gunawardena (athletics), Surangani Wijendra (netball), Chandrani Pathiraja (netball) and a medical doctor.
