Iraq record second successive win

Iraq recorded their second successive win in the ongoing Asia-Oceania Group IV tennis tournament, following the win against Brunei on day one, beating Maldives by three sets to nil in the Group ‘B’ encounter  played at the SLTA clay courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.


This was the only match played on the second day as Iraq won both the singles with Abdullah Ali Hatem and Adil Mustafa Al-Saedi and Mohammad Al Shammari/Abdullah Ali Hatem coming out on top in the doubles encounter.

Iraq beat Maldives 3-0
Singles - Abdullah Ali Hatem (Iraq) beat Aihan Shiyam (Maldives) 2-0 (6/0, 6/0), Adil Mustafa Al-Saedi (Iraq) beat Abdulla Faaih (Maldives) 2-0 (5/7, 5/0, 2/0rtd)
Doubles – Mohammad Al Shammari/Abdullah Ali Hatem (Iraq) beat Mohamed Fazeel/Hussain Naseef (Maldives) 2-0 (6/0, 6/0)
