Jaffna Stallions win inaugural KSC T20 Blast in Batticaloa

Jaffna Stallions Cricket Academy team after winning the KSC Super League T20 Blast in Batticaloa

Jaffna Stallions Cricket Academy led by Rajiv Nirmalasingam registered a thrilling nine-run win over Royal Kings Cricket Club to emerge champs of the inaugural Koddaimunai Sports Club T20 Blast played at the Koddaimunai Sports Village Ground in Batticaloa on Tuesday (01).   
Junior Azharians defeated Club Trout by 28 runs to clinch third place.   


In the league stage, Jaffna Stallions defeated Club Trout by five wickets and hosts Koddaimunai Sports Club by 38 runs while Royal Kings CC defeated Digamadulla CC and Junior Azharians by an identical margin of three runs.   
In the final Jaffna Stallions powered by a 30 ball 34 by Rajiv Nirmalasingam scored 109/9 in their 20 overs.   
Ruchira Adikari and Shaveen Minosh captured three wickets each.   
The Jaffna Stallions bowlers kept the chase in check as Royal Kings were 39/6 at the halfway stage but the tail-enders added 61 more runs to be bowled out for but short of ten runs.
