Sri Lanka will take on Myanmar in two FIFA International friendly football encounters on October 10 and 13 at the Yangon Stadium in Myanmar.

The 23-member Sri Lankan contingent left for Myanmar yesterday, and they are set to begin their preparations today.

This was a result of a meeting between Sri Lanka Football (SLF) President Jaswar Umar and Myanmar Football Chief Zaw Zaw in Myanmar yesterday.

The meeting marked an important step in fostering collaboration between the two nations in the realm of football.

By sharing expertise and ideas for mutual development, both leaders are working toward strengthening not just their own football programmes but also contributing to the overall growth of the sport in Asia.

President Zaw Zaw’s praise for Sri Lanka’s recent football advancements under Jaswar Umar’s leadership reflects the strides Sri Lanka has made in the sport.

The symbolic exchange of the customised national jersey further underscores the goodwill and mutual respect between the two nations, signaling a promising future for football in both countries.

Sri Lanka National Team Manager Hiran Rathnayake also joined the meeting.
