Joes emerge Junior National swimming champs

The St. Joseph’s College Swimming Team

St. Joseph’s College Colombo won the Boys’ overall championship title at the Junior National Swimming Championships, held at the Sugathadasa Swimming Pool Complex in Colombo.   
The Josephians collected a total of 173 points at the end of this tournament, which was conducted by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union.   


Meanwhile, Trinity College with 92 points emerged runners-up while St. Peter’s College Bambalapitiya with 84 points, secured third place in the Boys’ overall championship.   
The junior individual champion titles were won by Senitha Deenal (St. Joseph’s) and Sithuki Yonara (Asian International School).   


Sirimavo Bandaranaike BV, Colombo with 128 points took the Girls’ overall title while Lyceum, Gampaha (91 points and Lyceum, Wattala (89 points) secured the second and third place respectively. Altogether five new records were established at this meet.
