Junior National Race Walking Meet in July

Four age group events of the race walking meet will be conducted for the first time in parallel with the Junior National Athletic Championships 2024, which will be held on July 13 and 14 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex in Diyagama.      

The race walking events – conducted by Sri Lanka Athletic (SLA) - will be held in the Under-16, Under-18, Under-20 and Under-23 age group categories for Men and Women.

The entries for the race walking events will be accepted from today and all entries will close on June 30.

The meet will be conducted to select top athletes who could represent the country at selected Asian-level age group race walking events in the future.    

The events will be held for Under-23 (Men) 10,000m, Under-23 (Women) 10,000m, Under-20 (Men) 10,000m, Under-20 (Women) 10,000m, Under-18 (Men) 10,000m, Under-18 (Women) 5,000m, Under-16 (Men) 3,000m and Under-16 (Women) 3,000m.
