Junior golfers Kaya and Jevahn to compete in Scotland

Talented junior golfers, Kaya Daluwatte and Jevahn Sathasivam qualified to represent Sri Lanka at the R and A World Junior Golf Championship 2024 from July 13 to 19 in Scotland.
Kaya qualified for this Scotland tour by winning the Sri Lanka Junior Open Golf Championship in December 2023 plus she came on top at the Sri Lanka Junior Match Play Championship in August 2023. 
She is also the top World Amateur Golf Ranking (1,212) player for Sri Lanka Ladies’/Girls’ at present.
Kaya has represented in more than 50 plus local and international tournaments in the last five years plus representing in overseas events in Scotland, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. 
She is also a three-time winner of the Royal Colombo Golf Club Ladies’ Club Championship (2021 to 2023), three-time winner of the Sri Lanka Junior Open Golf Championship (2021 to 2023) plus two-time winner of the Sri Lanka Junior Match Play Championship for 2022 and 2023.
Meanwhile, Sathasivam’s journey into the sport started merely four years ago with no prior golfing experience. But in a short span, he has emerged as one of Sri Lanka’s most promising golfers, winning multiple tournaments in Sri Lanka. 
Sathasivam represented Sri Lanka at the World Junior Open (Thailand) and Malaysian Junior Open. The most notable highlight was winning the Sri Lanka Junior Open Strokeplay Championship by a commanding 10 strokes.
By virtue of his wins, he also entered the prestigious World Amateur Golf Rankings for the first time.
President, Sri Lanka Golf, Ranil Peiris said: “The Royal and Ancient Golf Club invited us to enter the best Under-16 Boy and Girl golfers, to participate in this event. The competition will be held over three days of strokeplay competition amongst the best junior players from over 60 countries.”
