Defending league and Clifford Cup champions, Kandy Sports Club will hold its 2021/22 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on November 28 at 10 am at their Club House in Nittawela.
The current President Mahesh Weerasinghe is tipped to continue for yet another term with former Trinitian Sujeewa Liyanage to continue at the vital position of Secretary. The players are already at training for the Inter-Club Sevens which is scheduled to take place in January 2022.
Kandy SC will be without the services of Jason Dissanayake and Buwanaka Udangamuwa who have migrated while Mohamed Shabeer has left the country for employment. Further, they lost out on Ashan Darling and Ganuka Dissnayake who have joined CH & FC. A few schoolboys from leading schools are expected to don the Kandy jersey and it will be a team-building process for the up-country outfit. Former Trinity, national sevens and fifteens player, Nigel Ratwatte is expected to lead the outfit in 2021/22.
