Kandy outclass Sri Lions

Kandy Sports Club made a fantastic start for the Inter Club League rugby encounter when they beat newcomers, Sri Lions Sports Club, by 61 points (8 tries, 6 conversions, 3 penalties) to 14 points (2 tries, 2 conversions) at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium last evening.

At the short breather, Kandy SC led 27-14.

Sri Lions played some top brand of rugby but ran out of steam in the later half. Meanwhile, Kandy SC played some cohesive rugby in the later half and played some top-brand rugby to demolish the newcomers.

Kandy scored through Dilshan Fareed, Srinarth Sooriyabandara, Dhanushka Ranjan, Tarinda Ratwatte, Dahan Wickramarachchi, Chathura Soysa, Ethan Schnieder, and Tharindu Chanaka. Tarinda took the conversions and put over three penalties.

For Sri Lions, their tries were scored by Aaron Perera and Ramesh Ramdas. Chanaka Chandimal and Kevin Dixon took one try conversion each.
