Kandy prevails over CH at Nittawela

Kandy Sports Club put up a brave effort in front of their home fans when they defeated CH and FC by 31 points (four goals and one penalty) to 13 points (one goal, one penalty and one drop goal) in their Dialog Inter-Club League Rugby Tournament Super Round fixture worked off at the Nittawela Stadium yesterday (24).

At the short whistle CH and FC led 6-3.

CH settled well in the initial half playing some attacking rugby which had Kandy SC defending most part of the half.

Sudarshana Muthuthahthri, Yoshitha Rajapaksa and Anuradha Herath stood out for the visitors.

Yakoob Ali. Nigel Ratwatte, Dhanushka Ranjan and Roshan Weeraratne played a major role for Kandy SC.

Kandy SC scored their tries through Nigel Ratwatte (2), Anurudha Wilwara and Thilina Wijesinghe.

Thilina converted all four tries and put over one penalty.

CH and FC scored their try through Samuel Maduwantha who also added the extra points and converted a penalty.

Kandy SC will meet Havelock SC next week which will decide the fate of the league championship.
