Kingswood College took a first innings lead in their 116th Battle of Maroons encounter against Dharmaraja College which commenced at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium yesterday.

Kingswood won the toss and put the Rajans in to take first lease of the wicket.
The Rajans never settled down and they were shot out for 114.

Only Usuru Panbala played with some authority to top score with 25.
Kenula, Amesh and Hakam all took three wickets a piece.

Kingswood in their turn were in deep trouble losing half of their side for only 26 runs but a brave partnership between skipper, Amesh Rupasinghe and all-rounder Abdul Hakam for the sixth wicket for 57 runs, took them out of danger.

Kingswood skipper Amesh Rupasinghe batted well for an unbeaten 66. Kingswood scored 132 in their first innings.
