Kusal Perera retained as captain for tour of England

Kusal Janith Perera has been retained as captain of Sri Lanka’s limited over teams for the tour of England this month.

Perera led a fresh-look team on the tour of Bangladesh in May and despite Sri Lanka losing 2-1, he has been retained in the leadership role.

The squad remains largely the same as the one that travelled to Bangladesh, with everyone but Ashen Bandara included for the tour of England.

Newly included to the 24-memebr squad are Avishka Fernando, Oshada Fernando, Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya Lakshan, Ishan Jayaratne, Nuwan Pradeep and Praveen Jayawickrama

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) also confirmed that the second edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will go ahead as scheduled from July 30 to August 22.
