Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will begin its process of registering local and foreign players for the second season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) starting today.

Each team will compromise of 20 players – 14 local cricketers and six from overseas – with each franchise allowed to retain two local players and two foreign players each from last year’s LPL with the rest entering the player draft.
Overseas players entering the player draft should have represented their country, played first class cricket, or taken part in a major franchise T20 tournament in an ICC full member country, while local players will be nominated by the national cricket selection panel.

Players representing the national, emerging, development teams and ‘A’ team, and also playing in the Major Club Cricket competition are eligible for selections.

The registration process will end on June 27 at 12 p.m., and can be accessed on the SLC website.
