Fast-bowling all-rounder Dhananjaya Lakshan is recovering well and could feature in the first T20I against England in Cardiff on Wednesday.
Lakshan, a standout talent at last year’s Lanka Premier League (LPL), is yet to make his international debut and picked up a knee injury after reaching England last week.
"Dhananjaya Lakshan who suffered a knee injury on this tour is recovering well and his selection in the final XI will depend on team management's decision", a member of the support staff said.
The Sri Lankan team on Sunday travelled to Cardiff, three days ahead of the first T20I, the first match on the England tour.
The team, after spending about 12 days in Manchester, could not play any competitive match against English counties but had to be content with the two inter-squad matches.
"Yes, the players are in good spirits and raring to go against the host", the support staff member added.
"Our players have been watching the World Test Championship (WCT) final on TV when not at the gym or at the pool", he added.
