Lankan shuttlers off to Spain for World Junior Meet

The Sri Lanka badminton team

The Sri Lanka Junior Badminton Team left the island last night to take part in the 22nd World Junior Badminton Championships, which will be held in Spain, starting today till October 30.
 The team, which will begin its campaign in Group G, consists of seven boys and four girls.


The Sri Lanka boys’ team includes Sethum Perera, Savinaka Weerasekera, Jason Homer, Pulina Wellalage, Thilina Rajakaruna, Senuk Samararatne, and Ashinsha Herath, while the girls’ team comprises Ranithma Liyanage, Panchali Adhikari, Manudhi Mithara, and Warangana Jayawardene.


Sumith de Silva is the Manager of the team, while Yukthi Rangana Perera serves as Coach. Gayani Hinidumage is the Lady Chaperon on tour.
