MHA League 2024 Seylan Bank record smashing win over SLT

The second day of the MHA League 2024, held at the Air Force Hockey Complex in Ekala, saw an exciting series of matches marked by outstanding performances and decisive victories.

Commercial Bank emerged victorious against Browns Group with a 3-1 score line. Milan Ariyawanse was the star of the match, scoring all three goals for Commercial Bank. Despite a commendable effort from Pathum Prabodha, who netted one goal for Browns Group, it was not enough to secure a win.

HNB dominated Sampath Bank in a 5-1 win. Damith Bandara and S.A. Wijesekera each scored twice, while Nuwan Mahara added another goal for HNB. Sampath Bank’s sole goal came from Buwaneka Parahitiyawa.

Hayleys Group narrowly defeated John Keels Group 1-0, with Indeera Bandara scoring the only goal of the match.

In the most one-sided match of the weekend, Seylan Bank thrashed SLT MOBITEL 8-0. Jeffery Irshard was in top form, scoring four goals. G.G.R. Dharmarathne contributed two goals, while Lipton Fernando and Chamil Kumara added one goal each to complete the rout.
