MOOSE CLOTHING TO SPONSOR NATIONAL RUGBY 7’S TEAM

Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) on Monday (25) unveiled Moose Clothing as its new official sponsor ahead of the Asia Rugby 7’s Series in Dubai. “We have spoken to Moose Clothing on short term plans and we also have had discussion about long term plans, but for the moment we are delighted to be partnering with Moose Clothing for the upcoming Asia Rugby 7’s Series. Obviously next year would be incredibly important for us with Commonwealth Games and Asian Games lined up, so we’d be more than happy to have them in future as well,” SLR President Rizly Illyas told the media.

This announcement also culminates in the visit of Asia Rugby President Qais Abdullah Al Dhalaiwho today commences his tour to Sri Lanka and India to look into the rugby sphere in both countries. “I am very pleased with the way Sri Lanka Rugby is moving forward. We as Asia Rugby have and will always support Sri Lanka Rugby. For the last one and half years we have invested nearly USD 40,000. It is my responsibility to help out the countries in our region, that is why I was elected as the President and we will continue to support,” Al Dhalai told journalists. After a layoff of over 20 months of zero rugby, this tournament is the breakthrough that the Sri Lankan Tuskers – both the men and women’s team – is looking forward to and with Moose stepping in and extending its sponsorship. Moose Clothing Company, is a youthful and versatile local clothing brand established in 2018 and with its base rising out of over half a century of experience and exposure in the clothing industry and thus it is a brand that believes in celebrating the free-spirited personality of the wearers.

With Moose Clothing readily extending its fullest support to SLR by availing itself of the sponsorship of the SL National Rugby 7’s team, it has no doubt embarked on uplifting the Sri Lankan flag for this sport in the international arena. This partnership with SLR is a timely decision which will undoubtedly support the celebration of this sport at a time when countries are slowly emerging out of lockdowns and restrictions amidst economic hardship.
