Major Club Limited Over tournament Rain hampers proceedings, matches to resume today

Rain hampered proceedings of the two Major Club Limited Over cricket tournament semi-final encounters played at the Surrey Village ground in Maggona and the Army ground in Dombagoda yesterday.


The match between Army SC and Tamil Union played at Maggona saw Tamil Union, batting first, make a score of 242 runs with a half-ton from skipper Sadeera Samarawickrama and useful knocks by Navod Paranavithana and Santhush Gunatileke.


In the match between Ragama CC and defending champions NCC, only 31 overs of play were possible, with Ragama CC making 114/5 from 31 overs when the match was called off.


The two matches will now be resumed today from where they stopped.
