Major Club Limited Over tournament from today

The Major Club limited-over cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket is scheduled to get underway today, and the prevailing weather will play a major role for the tournament to get going.

The tournament will see 18 teams divided into two groups of nine each in action, with defending champions SSC, who defeated Sebastianites CC in the final last year, being slotted in Group ‘A’ and being pitted along with Negombo CC, Bloomfield, NCC, Chilaw Marians CC, Ragama CC, Tamil Union, Panadura SC, and Ace Capital CC. The teams in Group ‘B’ comprise Colts CC, Badureliya CC, CCC, Moors SC, Nugegoda S&WC, Police SC, Kandy Customs SC, BRC, and Kurunegala YCC.

Seven matches are down for decision in the matches scheduled to be played today: Ace Capital CC vs. Negombo CC at Dombagoda, Panadura SC vs. Bloomfield at Panadura, Chilaw Marians CC vs. Ragama CC at Galle, Badureliya CC vs. Kurunegala YCC at Maggona, Moors SC vs. Kandy Customs SC at Reid Avenue, Nugegoda SWC vs. Police SC at Moratuwa, and CCC vs. BRC at SSC, while NCC will meet Tamil Union at NCC on June 11.
