Major Club Semi-Final Four teams battle for final slots today

The Major Club Limited Over cricket tournament has almost reached the final stage with four teams Tamil Union and Ace Capital CC from Group ‘A’ along with Army SC and CCC from Group ‘B’ having qualified to the semi-finals and they will battle it out today to book the berth to the final.

Tamil Union led by Sadeera Samarawickrama and CCC led by Ashan Priyanjan will clash at the Colts ground while Army SC and Ace Capital CC will battle it out at the NCC ground.

Tamil Union who ended up as the top team with 30 points in Group ‘A’ winning ten of their12 matches they played while CCC ended up as the second best team in Group ‘B’ having secured 31 points.

The two teams have talented players in their ranks with Tamil Union skipper Sadeera having players in the likes of Sithara Hapuhinna, Ron Chandragupta, Navod Paranavithana, Dilruwan Perera, Isuru Udana, Santhush Gunatileke and Dilum Sudeera while CCC skipper Ashan will bank on Nimesha Gunasinghe, Pawantha Weerasinghe, Minod Bhanuka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamindu Wijesinghe, Lasith Abeyratne and Pawan Ratnayake to deliver the goods.

Army SC led by all-rounder Thisara Perera came out on top by recording 11 wins from the 12 played and ended with 33 points. They have players in the calibre of Seekkuge Prasanna, Asel Gunaratne, Suminda Lakshan, Shehan Fernando, Mahesh Kumara and Himasha Liyanage from whom they can depend on while Ace Capital CC led by Lasith Croospulle will depend on players in the likes of Thanuka Dabare, Shehan Fernando, Nimasara Atharagalla, Sakuna Liyanage, Chanuka Devinda and Theeraka Ranatunga to guide the side.

However with the two matches being crucial for the four teams it’s not going to be easy to predict the final outcome due to the fact that the four teams posses players who have all being in the forefront during the league matches which came to an end last week.
