Major Club T20 Cricket Army SC, Colts CC book berths to final

The two unbeaten teams in the league segment of the Major Club T20 cricket tournament Army SC and Colts CC each booked berths to the final when they recorded easy wins over Saracens SC and BRC in the semi-finals played at the P Sara Stadium yesterday.   

Army SC got the better of Saracens SC by 52 runs thanks to an unbeaten 26 ball knock of 50 with two boundaries and four sixes by skipper Thisara Perera and two partnerships one of 51 runs for the third wicket between Seekkuge Prasanna and Lakshan Edirisinghe and the other of 55 runs for the fifth wicket between skipper Perera and Mahesh Kumara which helped Army SC taking first lease of the wicket to make a score of 169 for 7.   
Saracens SC in their run chase lost their top five wickets with the score on 50 and despite a useful knock coming from Akash Senaratne in the latter part of the innings were able to muster a score of only 117.   

In the other semi final Colts CC overcame BRC by 67 runs with Colts CC taking first lease of the wicket making a modest score of 128 runs and then bowling out BRC for a low score of 61 runs. The final is scheduled to be played tomorrow at the same venue.

At P Sara Stadium – Colts CC won by 67 runs
Colts CC 128 in 19.4 overs (Vishad Randika 35, Hashan Dumindu 22, Ravindu Rashantha 21, Duvindu Tilekeratne 2 for 13, Dushan Hemantha 2 for 13, T.N. Sampath 2 for 17, Malka Madusanka 2 for 21)   
BRC 61 in 16.3 overs (T.N. Sampath 17, Akila Dhananjaya 3 for 3, Muditha Lakshan 2 for 18)
