An unbeaten knock of 67 in 39 balls, inclusive of three boundaries and five sixes by Sakuna Liyanage, paved the way for Ace Capital CC to record a close 13-run win over SSC in the Major Club T20 cricket tournament encounter played in the evening session at P Sara Stadium.

Liyanage was also involved in a valuable 62-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Wanuja Sahan which contributed to the win.

Ace Capital CC taking first lease of the wicket made a challenging score of 164 and SSC, despite a sound start of 52 between Avishka Fernando and Krishan Sanjula, lost their way in the latter part of the innings, losing their last five wickets for the addition of just 19 runs to be bowled out for 151 runs.

The win, which was their third successive victory, meant Ace Capital CC maintained their unbeaten record and will now meet table leaders Tamil Union in a crucial match scheduled to be played tomorrow.

In another match between Badureliya CC and Kurunegala YCC played in the morning session at the same venue, which was curtailed to 11 overs due to a late start, Kurunegala YCC recorded a comfortable seven-wicket win over Badureliya CC who made 87 for 7.
