Maris Stella amass formidable 333/8

Maris Stella College Thimbirigaskatuwa winning the toss and taking first lease of the wicket made a formidable score of 333 for 8 declared against President’s College Kotte in day one of the Under 19 inter school Division Two Tier ‘B’ semi final encounter played at Dharmapala MV grounds in Pannipitiya.   
The foundation for the formidable score was laid by openers Nadeesha Rajakaruna who made 72 and Sonal Nethmina (60) who together gave them a solid start of 109 runs which was followed by Rajakaruna putting on another valuable 67 runs stand for the second wicket with Nimsara Senarath who made 63 and later skipper Yohan Fernando made a valuable contribution of 72.   
President’s College in their turn was able to face only five balls as the match was called off due to bad light. The match will be continued today.
