Milo Schools Netball shifted to Wennappuwa

The postponed All Island Schools Netball Championships conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Netball Association and sponsored by Nestle Lanka PLC which was scheduled to be held from October 16 to 18 at the Dadalla ground in Galle has been shifted to be played over three days at Wennappuwa.   

The organizers were forced to postpone the original scheduled dates due to the prevailing weather. The championship is now scheduled to be held from November 11 to 13 at the Albert Peiris Stadium in Wennappuwa.   
The tournament will be conducted in two divisions (A and B) in four age groups of under 13, 15, 17 and 19. The A division under 13 age groups will comprise six teams and four each in the other three age groups while the B division tournament will be conducted in the three age groups of under 15, 17 and 19 that will comprise two teams in each group. The SLSNA is expecting the participation of over 4000 players from both the divisions   
Holy Family Convent Kurunegala who emerged champions at the last tournament which was held in 2019 in Kurunegala bagged the title for the 12th successive year and no doubt they will be looking forward to continue their domination but will face stiff opposition from Visakha Vidyalaya, Musaeus College, Kalutara BV to name a few.
