Ministry approves Jayathilaka as head of netball selection committee

The Sports Ministry has decided to appoint Damayanthi Jayathilaka as the chairperson of the Sri Lanka netball selection committee.

A former netball star and secretary of the netball Federation , Jayathilaka, has Chamina Aponso, Deepthi Edirisinghe, Seetha Ramani and Thisangani Kodithuwakku as members of the national netball selection committee.

Jayathilaka represented Sri Lanka at two World Cups (1999 Christchurch and 2003 Kingston) and the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games.

A centre court player, Jayathilaka was captain when Sri Lanka won the Asian championship in 2001 in Colombo. She is a product of Pannala National School.
