NFSL nominations close on April 19

Nominations for the Netball Federation of Sri Lanka (NFSL) elections 2024-2026 will close on April 19, the three-member Netball Election Committee revealed yesterday.  
The NFSL elections for the period of 2024-2026 will be held on May 28 at the Duncan White Auditorium of the Ministry of Sports in Colombo commencing at 10.00 a.m.  
The three-member Netball Election Committee is headed by Retired High Court Judge Wimal Nambuwasam (Chairman) and the other members are C. Rathnamudali and Padmajina Siriwardhana.  
32 District Association Members affiliated with the NFSL are eligible to cast their vote at the elections.   


Accordingly, president (1), deputy president (1), vice-presidents (4), secretary (1), assistant secretary (1) treasurer (1) assistant treasurer (1) and tournament secretary (1) will be elected and in addition, one vice president will be elected to oversee the schools activities.   
Meanwhile, the incumbent NFSL President Laxmi Victoria said she has decided to contest and she is expected receive stiff opposition from another former netball president.   
The new president will be challenged to spearhead Sri Lanka to a hat-trick of titles at the 13th Asian Senior Netball Championships from September 27 to October 6 in Saudi Arabia, having won the championship in 2018 and 2022 respectively.
