NOCSL marks traditional Olympic Day Run

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOCSL) marked the birth of modern Olympics with an Olympic Day Run yesterday in Colombo.  


The day got underway with the lighting of the traditional Olympic Torch by NOCSL president Suresh Subramaniam and Secretary General Maxwell de Silva, and Eric Lavertu the French Ambassador to Sri Lanka. Joining the torch igniting ceremony were the Secretary to the Ministry of Sports Anuradha Wijekoon, Olympic silver medallist Susanthika Jayasinghe and three-time Olympian Niluka Karunaratne.
