NSG Cager Double for Western Province

The star-studded Western Province Team clinched the Men’s and Women’s titles at the National Sports Games (NSG) Inter-Provincial Basketball Championships held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.

Western Province beat the North Western Province 114-35 in the Men’s Tournament final while Western Province defeated Northern Province 66-63 in the Women’s Tournament final.

North Western Province and Northern Province secured the Silver Medal in the Men’s and Women’s Tournaments.

Nine teams participated in this tournament, which was conducted by the Ministry of Sports and the Department of Sports Development. Dasun Nilantha and Nirma Sasanthi – both from the Western Province – were selected as the Best Player in the Men’s and Women’s Tournaments respectively.
