NSG marathon, cycling and race walking in Mahiyanganaya

The 48th National Sports Games (NSG) marathon, cycling and race walking events for Men and Women conducted by the Department of the Sports Development of the Ministry of Sports will be held on June 15 and 16 in Mahiyanganaya.   

Over 400 athletes are set to participate in the marathon, cycling and race walking events, the Ministry of Sports announced yesterday.   

The winners of these events will be shortlisted to represent the country at future international events. The winners of all three events will receive cash awards.  The Men’s and Women’s race walking events will be held on June 15 commencing at 5.30 p.m. from opposite the Mahiyanganaya Temple and will finish from the same location. Over 90 athletes (Men and Women) are set to participate in this event.   

Meanwhile, the Men’s and Women’s racing cycling event and the Men’s and Women’s standard cycling event will be held on June 15 while the Men’s and Women’s marathon events will be held on June 16.
