Nalanda PCA launch five-year Cricket Development plan

The Past Cricketers’ Association of Nalanda College held their 12th annual general meeting at Nalanda College under the patronage of its patron and principal Thilak Waththuhewa recently, launching a five-year Cricket development plan.


This special development plan was designed by veteran cricketers and coaches produced by Nalanda College.


Their elite committee members Mahela Jayawardena, Roshan Mahanama, Asanka Gurusinghe, Gamini Wickramasinghe, Kumara Dharmasena, Jayantha Senevirathne, Hemantha Devapriya, Susantha Karunarathne and Imal Botheju have been involved in preparing the plan together with the principal and the school management with coaches. The technical committee will be chaired by Upul Gamage.


The strategic committee was formed by former Nalandians who volunteered to serve to achieve the five-year development plan, and will be chaired by Kanishka Bandarathilake.
The following former Nalandian cricketers and professionals will be serving in this Strategic Cricket Development Committee (SCDC) locally and internationally.
Saranga Wijerathne, Sajith Kodikara, Nilan Silva, Nalin Aponsu, Asanka Nanayakkara, Ranesh Handunnetti, Asela Lokuge, Charitha Botheju, Sanjeewa Jayawardena, Lakshan Algama Perera, Nuwan Rathnakeerthi, Milinda Weerasinghe – Sri Lanka, Pradeep Hedigalle – Europe, Prof. Sandun Perera – USA, Kanishka Gamanayaka – Australia, Arunalu De Silva – UAE, Prabath Kariyapperuma – Canada and Sachithra Serasinghe – UK are also involved in this project.


Further, it was discussed in length about the Sri Lanka School’s U-19 Division One T-10 League tournament which will be organized by NCPCA to be played for the first time in Sri Lanka.
All 36 teams in Division One are invited to participate in this tournament in which the first-round of matches will be played in Kurunegala, Galle, Moratuwa and Colombo at six international venues on August 26 and 27, 2023.
