Nalanda dominate on day one against Dharmapala

Sri Lanka youth player Vinuja Ranpul, Kushmitha Silva and Chanul Athukorala shone for Nalanda College against Dharmapala MV on day one in the Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter played at Pannipitiya.

Ranpul cracked a quick-fire 93-ball knock of 96 that included 11 boundaries and two sixes while Kushmitha made 74 and Chanul an unbeaten 70 for Nalanda who made a formidable score of 318. for 7 declared. 

Nalanda’s score came on the back of two partnerships that of 138 runs for the third wicket between Vinuja and Kushmitha and the other of 50 runs for the fifth wicket between Chanul and Nikil Abeygunasekera.

Dharmapala MV in their turn ended the day on 103 for 3.
