National Schools Games Tennis Visakha Vidyalaya clinch U17 and U20 titles

Visakha Vidyalaya Colombo clinched two tennis titles at the recently concluded National Schools Games tennis championships when they succeeded to bag the Girls Under 17 and 20 titles played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo.   

In the Under 17 age group the Visakhians overcame Bishop’s College and in the Under 20 category the Visakhians defeated Newstead College Negombo. Musaeus College and Methodist College ended up as the third best teams.   
Meanwhile the boys categories of the two age groups was abandoned due to the inclement weather and according to sources it will not be played.

Semi Finals: 

Under 17 Girls:

Newstead College Negombo beat Musaeus College 2/1. Visakha Vidyalaya beat Bishop’s College 2:0.  
Third Place - Musaeus College beat Bishop’s College 2/0.  

Under 20 Girls:

Visakha Vidyalaya beat Methodist College 2/0   
Ladies’ College beat Bishop’s College 2/0.   

Finals: Under 17 Girls:

Visakha Vidyalaya beat Newstead College Negombo 2/1.

Visakha Vidyalaya beat Ladies’ College 2/1.
