National Super League Semi-Finals Sohan, Pavan crack tons on day one

Tons by Sohan de Livera for Galle and Pavan Ratnayake for Dambulla were the highlights of the first-day’s play in the four-day National Super League Semi-Finals at R. Premadasa Stadium and P. Sara Stadium respectively. 


De Livera made 133 of 103, including 12 boundaries, in two partnerships of 59 for the opening wicket with Sangeeth Cooray and 91 for the second wicket with Lakshan Edirisinghe. Pasindu Sooriyabandara scored an uninterrupted 67 runs for the fourth wicket with Dunith Wellalage for Galle and finished the first day on an impressive score of 356 to 3 against Kandy.
Meanwhile, Pavan Ratnayake slammed a 148-ball knock of 117 with 12 boundaries and three sixes. He shared three valuable partnerships -the first an opening wicket stand of 60 with Abishek Liyanaarachchi, followed by 78 runs for the second wicket with Gayan Maneeshan and 92 runs for the third wicket with Sanoj Dharshika, adding another 56 runs for the fifth wicket with Ashan Priyanjan to help Dambulla to end day one on 289 against Jaffna at P. Sara Stadium.
