Navy Sports Club will face a spirited CR & FC in the fourth week of SLR Rugby League 2022 at Welisara today.
CR though not considered a formidable side this season, pulled off a stunning victory against CH & FC; the same team that snatched up half of their squad. CR captain Kavindu de Costa one of the most loyal servants of the club has been at the center of their success chipping in with crucial tries and guiding arguably one of the youngest teams in this year’s competition.

CR are expected to bring in Jero Dhananjaya to the starting line up in place of injured D. Zabar as they look to build on last week’s sensational win. Navy on the other hand gave defending champions Kandy a run for their money last week though losing by a narrow margin of five points. Navy seemed to have had the upper hand of the game in certain phases, but Kandy simply showed their class and did just enough to secure a massively important away win.

Place kicker Chathura Senevirathne has been instrumental for the saliors in executing their kicking game having scored 15 out of the 30 they scored against the reigning champions.

Over the last few seasons, Navy has had some very heavy packs and they would once again pose a huge threat to CR. The Red Shirts certainly have more creativity across their backline but the game will be decided on how CR pack could handle the Navy forwards.
