Nestomalt sponsors six national marathon champions

Nestle’s flagship brand, Nestomalt, has come forward to sponsor six national marathon champions, which was presented at an event held recently at the National Institute of Sports Science with the participation of Anuradha Wijekoon, Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Amal Edirisooriya, Director General, Department of Sports, and Sajith Jayalal, Director, National Institute of Sports.

Nestomalt is offering the recipients financial assistance, athletic training kits and a year’s worth of Nestomalt to help them power their progress in future endeavours at local and international meets. The six recipients were marathon winners at the 46th National Sports Festival held in March 2021.

Muththusami Sivarajan (Air Force), Velu Krishanthani (Army), Tissa Gunasekera (Army), Madushani Herath (Army), Sisira Kumara (Navy), and Samanthika Liyanage (Army) are among the six recipients.

Ruwan Welikala, Vice President, Diary, Nestle Lanka, speaking at the presentation, said that for over three decades, Nestomalt has been at the forefront of Sri Lanka’s biggest marathons and we will continue to support and encourage more aspiring young athletes to continue their training to have a successful career and to achieve greater heights in the marathon sports.
