Niroshan, Lahiru, Ashian steer NCC to massive win

Niroshan Dickwella slammed a 59 ball 112 inclusive of eight boundaries and eight sixes while Lahiru Udara cracked 88 in 54 balls with 12 boundaries and three sixes and right arm spinner Ashian Daniel bagged four scalps as the trio combined to steer NCC to a massive 228 run win over Tamil Union in the Major Club limited over tournament encounter played at the NCC ground.   

NCC invited to take first lease of the wicket was given a sound start of 168 runs by Dickwella and Udara which followed with a seventh wicket stand of 76 between Chamika Gunasekera who made an unbeaten half ton and Kavin Bandara which helped them to make a formidable score of 359 for 8.   

Tamil Union in their run chase was made to struggle for their runs as they lost their top five wickets with the score on 75 in the 11th over before Daniel cleaned off the tail to bundle them out for a low score of 131 runs to give NCC a winning start.
