The Colombo Kings won the opening game of the Lanka Premier League in a Super Over (SLC)

In the event a Super Over is tied in the Lanka Premier League (LPL), there won't be a second Super Over, Farveez Maharoof, the former cricketer who is the Team Manager of the Kandy Tuskers confirmed.
The first match of the tournament between the Colombo Kings and Tuskers ended in a tie, with the Kings winnings the Super Over.
The playing conditions of the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) allowed for a second Super Over, and it ended up deciding a group stage match between the Kings XI Punjab and the Mumbai Indians.
"In the ongoing LPL, we will not have a second Super Over. If there's a tie after the Super Over, the team scoring most boundaries (fours and sixes) will be the winner", Maharoof said.
Interestingly, the ICC was slammed for the “ridiculous” boundary-count rule that decided the Cricket World Cup final between England and New Zealand.
Meanwhile, the extent of the Irfan Pathan’s hamstring injury, sustained Thursday’s match, is not yet known.
“The Medical team management of the Kandy team is monitoring his hamstring injury. At present we are not sure whether he would be able to play the next game or when he will be available".
After bowling five balls in his second over, the Indian all-rounder Irfan clutched his hamstring and was taken off.
Kandy's next match is against Dambulla Viiking on Saturday.
