Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, President’s Prize and Aitken Cup Youngsters in sparkling form in Hill Country

Top class young school boy golfers Imran Nazeer and Jevahn Sathasivam won the President’s Prize and Aitken Cup respectively at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) course recently. There were more than 50 golfers teed off in the annual event which was conducted in the Hill Country.   


Sixteen-year-old, Nazeer from Kings Keynesia International School came back strongly on day two to top form in order to beat Thushara Rupasinghe on count back to win the President’s Prize in his home town. The youngster who played some top-class golf was the past winner of Buchanan Cup and Golden Putter both in 2019.   


Meanwhile 14-year-old, Jevahn Sathasivam who was the runner-up in the Captain’s Cup on day one continued his cracking form to account for the Aitken Cup which was taken on net stroke play aggregate in both days.   


The Asian International school student Sathasivam and Nazeer both were in sparkling form are contenders to represent the country at junior level.
