The Old Boys of Trinity College will be all out to retain the ninth edition of the Bradby Golf encounter when they host the traditional rivals Old Royalists at the Victoria Golf Resort (VGR) on September 6. The tee off is at 12.30 p.m.

The Old Royalists will be led by the evergreen golfer, former Captain of the Royal Colombo Golf Club and veteran retired banker, Jehaan Ismail while the Old Trinitians will be led by consistent player Suren Vaas.

Both teams will be playing for the coveted G. C. Wickramasinghe Memorial Trophy which is a Board event.

In its ninth Anniversary, the event will adopt a ‘Ryder Cup’ styled match play format, which has become very popular.

To encourage old boys of both schools to play along and become inclusive, the Victoria Cup will take place alongside the main event and adopt a Stableford scoring format.

The late G. C. Wickramasinghe was part of the 1956 Royal Rugby Team. Trinity will go out all guns blazing to retain the trophy. At present the school from the central hills are leading the series at 5-3.
